Revenue maps are official records prepared by the State Revenue Department to illustrate land divisions within a specific region. These maps provide a visual representation of land parcels, their boundaries, survey numbers, and details such as ownership, classification, and land use. Revenue maps are very important for landowners, buyers, government authorities, and planners, offering clarity on land dimensions and helping resolve disputes related to land ownership or boundaries.
Types of Revenue Maps in Karnataka
The Karnataka Revenue Department has categorized revenue maps into several types, each serving a unique purpose. Below is a detailed explanation of the main types:
- Cadastral (Village) Maps: These maps provide detailed boundaries for land in specific villages. To view them, you can select the district, taluk, hobli, and village in the Bhoomi portal.
- BBMP Maps: Used to show land details within the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP). The map is downloadable as a KMZ file, which you can open with Google Earth.
- Lake Maps (Digital and Survey): These maps show the details of lakes in the state, with both digital and survey versions available for download in JPEG format.
- Survey Details: Survey maps include detailed survey results for specific land areas, and they are important for validating land records.
